What are its characteristics?
Red dress of a dark purple
Powerful nose of black fruits (blackcurrant, cherry) and spices (red pepper)
Full mouth, fleshy, with a nice tannic and fresh structure. Full and persistent finish with liquorice notes.
Where does this wine come from?
The vineyard is located on the “Butte Rouge” since the Middle Ages not far from the fortified walls of Montreuil-Bellay, at the gates of Anjou, Touraine and Poitou, on a hill ideally exposed north-west / south- is.
The terroir is characterized by alluvial formations, stony, red highlights, on a clay subsoil that allows a superb ripening of Cabernet Franc and tannins of character.
How was it designed?
Maturity monitoring by tasting berries. Harvest grapes on aromatic profiles of the ripe fruit type. Fermentation in thermo-regulated vats (23-24°C). After fermentation, the wine continues aging for 6 to 10 months.
