terroir
Where does this wine come from?
Robert & Marcel wines are made from clay-limestone soils, at the origin of the tufa stone, typical of the region of brittany. The temperate climate of the Loire Valley allows the grapes to develop an ideal ripening thus delivering intense wines aromas.
Made from Cabernet Franc (90%) and Grolleau Noir (10%), the vineyard is located on the mounds of tufa (chalk) of Saumur.
Plots are selected in February for their ability to offer grapes of beautiful maturity and rich in aromas.
The harvest is done by hand around mid-September.

winemaking
How was it designed?
The transport and the pressing are carried out with meticulousness in order to guarantee an ideal taste equilibrium and an irreproachable fineness of bubbles. The juices are selected and only the most honest and balanced enter the final assembly. Aging on batten of 18 months minimum in our natural cellars of tufa.
